Good Friends Charlotte offers limited monetary assistance to low-income families who are residents of Mecklenburg County. Examples of family needs include: evictions, utility disconnects, used appliances, appliance repair, medications, medical equipment, and other miscellaneous needs.Social workers and case managers from the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services (DSS) and over 35 other non-profit agencies in Mecklenburg County work with families to make referrals for monetary assistance through Good Friends Charlotte. These referrals are administered through our Distributions Coordinator, Polly Needham.
